Short answer: Glide’s pricing page lists Basic at US$25, Plus at US$50 and Pro at US$125 a month, plus a free plan and custom Enterprise pricing. That is roughly AED 1,102 to AED 5,509 a year before any extra credits. A custom app from a Dubai studio costs more on day one: Aquarius custom apps start at a fixed AED 10,000. That buys an agreed scope, code you own, a UAE-aware data design, production Arabic right-to-left and local payments.
Glide turns a spreadsheet, a prompt or a file into a business app. Its new platform, GlideOS, is aimed at internal tools: inventory, work orders, field sales, CRM and dashboards. Many Dubai operations teams try it before they talk to an agency, and for good reason. The useful question is not whether Glide works. It is when a Glide app is enough, and when UAE customers, regulators and payment providers need a production build. This guide sets Glide’s published 2026 plans against a fixed-scope custom build.
Key takeaways
- Glide lists Free, Basic, Plus, Pro and Enterprise plans. Paid plans start at US$25, US$50 and US$125 a month, and Enterprise is priced on request.
- Every plan runs on credits. Basic includes 100, Plus 250 and Pro 500 for 5 members, with 50 more credits per extra member.
- Plans are capped by published apps (0, 2, 5, then unlimited), team members and enabled workflows. Public apps need Plus or above.
- Glide’s comparison table shows “View code and project files” on Enterprise only, so most plans give you no code to take away.
- Glide does not do the UAE-specific work for you: PDPL-aware data design, production Arabic RTL, local payment gateways and a security review.
Glide vs custom app: 2026 cost comparison
The Glide figures below come from glideapps.com/pricing as checked on 16 October 2026. The page shows each plan as a monthly price. AED amounts use the fixed 3.6725 AED/USD peg and assume 12 months on the starting price. Aquarius prices are from our AED app and website pricing page, with VAT applied as UAE law requires.
| Option | Published price | Approx. AED per year | What the plan lists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glide Free | US$0 | AED 0 | Limited credits, 2 team members, 10 projects, no published apps |
| Glide Basic | US$25/month | ≈ AED 1,102 | 100 credits, 2 team members, 2 published apps, 1 enabled workflow, personal and team apps |
| Glide Plus | US$50/month | ≈ AED 2,204 | 250 credits (more on higher tiers), 3 team members, 5 published apps, 20 projects, 5 workflows, public apps |
| Glide Pro | From US$125/month | ≈ AED 5,509 | 500 credits for 5 members, 50 credits per extra member, unlimited apps and workflows, premium integrations, roles, 24h backups |
| Glide Enterprise | Custom | On request | SSO, audit logs, 30-day backups, choice of LLM provider, view code and project files |
| Aquarius Custom App | From AED 10,000, fixed scope | One-off build, then optional support | Custom web or mobile app, AI features, auth, payments, dashboards, API and integrations |
On sticker price Glide wins year one. A small team on Basic pays about AED 1,102 a year. The gap narrows once you count the hours spent building it yourself, the jump to Pro once more than three people need to edit, extra credits as usage grows, and the cost of rebuilding later because the code stays on the platform. We ran the same comparison for two rival builders in Adalo vs custom app development in Dubai and Base44 vs custom app development in Dubai.
How Glide credits and plan limits shape your bill
Glide prices on two levers: credits and seats. Credits fund the AI and workflow activity in your apps, and the pricing page notes that extra credits are available on paid plans only. Basic allows one credit top-up a month, Plus two, and Pro and Enterprise are unlimited. The limits that move you up a tier are structural:
- Published apps. Free publishes none. Basic publishes 2 apps, Plus 5, and Pro removes the cap. A field app plus a manager dashboard plus a customer portal already needs Plus.
- Team members. Basic and Free allow 2 members and Plus allows 3. Pro starts at 5, and the credit allowance scales by member count.
- Workflows. Basic enables 1 workflow and Plus 5. Automations that run approvals, reminders and syncs add up quickly in a real operation.
- Features gated by tier. Public apps start on Plus. Premium integrations, org-level roles, human support and 24-hour backups start on Pro. SSO and audit logs are Enterprise only.
That model is easy to start with and reasonable for internal tools with a known headcount. The risk is that the app, its logic and its data model live on Glide’s platform, so outgrowing it usually means rebuilding.
Where a Glide app stops being enough in the UAE
A spreadsheet app builder gives you the components it ships. It does not know what a UAE regulator, an enterprise buyer or a payment provider will ask next. Four gaps show up on most Dubai projects we review.
PDPL and data location
The UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) expects a lawful basis, purpose limits and proper security for personal data. Glide’s pricing page lists SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and CCPA badges, but it does not list a UAE data region on any plan. If your app holds customer, patient or employee records, map where that data lives before launch. Our UAE PDPL compliance checklist for apps lists what to settle.
Code ownership and exit
Glide’s plan comparison shows “View code and project files” as included on Enterprise only. On Free, Basic, Plus and Pro there is nothing to hand to another team. That is fine for a stock tracker. It is a problem for a product you plan to raise money on or sell.
Arabic and right-to-left
Glide’s pricing page does not mention Arabic or right-to-left layouts. Mirrored navigation, Arabic typography, mixed-direction forms and RTL-aware tables need deliberate design and testing on real phones. Generated screens often look right in English and break when the locale flips.
UAE payments and customer-facing scale
GlideOS is pitched at internal business apps. Customer-facing apps that take AED payments need a local gateway, 3-D Secure, VAT-correct invoices carrying your TRN and often WhatsApp or SMS OTP. Those need server-side integration and test cards. Our payment gateway integration cost guide shows what that involves.
When Glide wins, and when custom wins
| Situation | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Internal tool built on an existing spreadsheet | Glide | Fastest route from sheet to app; about AED 1,102 a year on Basic |
| Field team, work orders or stock counts | Glide | Templates exist for these; low PDPL exposure if no customer data |
| Testing a process before investing | Glide | Cheap to change, cheap to drop |
| Customer-facing app taking AED payments | Custom | Local gateway, VAT invoicing and 3-D Secure need tested server code |
| Health, finance or government-adjacent data | Custom | You need to choose and document where personal data lives |
| Bilingual Arabic/English product | Custom | Production RTL needs design work and device testing |
| Product you plan to raise money on | Custom | Investors and acquirers ask who owns the code |
A path that works for many Dubai teams: run the process on Glide until it stabilises, then hand the validated screens and data model to a studio for a fixed-scope build. The Glide app becomes the specification, which shortens discovery and lowers the quote. For a wider view of the trade-off, read no-code vs custom development in the UAE.
Aquarius custom apps: AI-native delivery, fixed AED price
We use AI in delivery, which is why our prices sit below a traditional Dubai agency. Engineers still own the architecture, review the code, and sign off PDPL data handling, Arabic RTL and payments before launch. You get the repository.
| Aquarius tier | Price | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Business Site | AED 2,500 | Up to 8 pages, CMS, SEO + AEO foundation, AI chat assistant, EN/AR ready |
| Custom App | From AED 10,000 | Custom web or mobile app, AI features, auth, payments, dashboards, API and integrations |
| Build | AED 24,000 | Custom web or mobile app with AI features, auth, payments and dashboards |

FAQ
How much does Glide cost in the UAE in 2026?
Glide’s pricing page lists Basic at US$25, Plus at US$50 and Pro from US$125 a month, plus a free plan and custom Enterprise pricing. At the 3.6725 peg that is roughly AED 1,102 to AED 5,509 a year before extra credits.
What are Glide credits?
Credits are Glide’s usage allowance on each plan. Basic includes 100, Plus 250 and Pro 500 for 5 members, with 50 more per extra member. Extra credits are available on paid plans only, and Basic and Plus limit how many top-ups you can buy each month.
Can I get the code of my Glide app?
Only on Enterprise. Glide’s plan comparison lists “View code and project files” as an Enterprise feature. On other plans, moving off Glide means rebuilding, though your screens and data model make a good specification.
Does Glide support Arabic right-to-left?
Glide’s pricing page does not mention Arabic or RTL. Test your exact screens in an Arabic locale on real devices before committing a bilingual product to it.
Is a custom app cheaper than Glide in Dubai?
Not in year one. Glide Basic costs about AED 1,102 a year, while Aquarius custom apps start at AED 10,000. Custom wins once you need customer-facing AED payments, Arabic RTL, a chosen data location and code you own.
