Short answer: FlutterFlow’s paid plans are listed at US$39 a month (Basic), US$80 for the first Growth seat and US$150 for the first Business seat, roughly AED 1,720 to 6,610 a year for one editor, before backend, app store and developer time. A custom app from a Dubai studio costs more up front — Aquarius custom apps start at a fixed AED 10,000 — but you get engineered, reviewed code plus the backend, Arabic RTL and UAE payments, not just a builder seat.
FlutterFlow is a visual builder that generates Flutter code, and unlike most no-code tools it lets paid users download that code. That makes the choice in Dubai less about lock-in and more about who does the work: your team in a builder, or engineers who own delivery end to end. This guide compares both on the figures FlutterFlow publishes today.
Key takeaways
- FlutterFlow prices in US dollars per editor seat. Free, Basic, Growth and Business are listed; Enterprise is a separate tier.
- Code download, APK download and custom-domain web publishing start on Basic. GitHub integration and real-time collaboration start on Growth.
- FlutterFlow is a front-end builder. Your backend (Firebase, Supabase or your own API) and store developer accounts are billed separately.
- Downloaded code still needs a Flutter developer to maintain, test and ship it once you leave the visual editor.
FlutterFlow vs custom app: 2026 cost comparison
FlutterFlow figures are from flutterflow.io/pricing as checked on 12 October 2026. The page states annual billing saves about 25%. AED figures use the fixed 3.6725 AED/USD peg, are rounded, and assume 12 months at the listed rate. UAE VAT at 5% may apply to either option.
| Plan | Listed price | ≈ AED per year | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | US$0 | AED 0 | Up to 2 projects, web publishing, 5 AI requests lifetime |
| Basic | US$39/mo | AED 1,720 | Unlimited projects, code and APK download, custom domain, one-click App Store deployment, 1 editor |
| Growth | US$80 first seat, US$55 second seat /mo | AED 3,530 (1 seat), AED 5,950 (2 seats) | GitHub integration, real-time collaboration for 2 users, branching, one-click localization, OpenAPI imports |
| Business | US$150 first seat, US$85 seats 2–5 /mo | AED 6,610 (1 seat), AED 21,590 (5 seats) | Up to 5 users, 5 branches, automated tests, Figma frame import, CLI |
| Aquarius Custom App | From AED 10,000 one-off | Hosting you control | Engineers build front end, backend, auth, payments and dashboards; you own the repository |
On sticker price, one FlutterFlow Basic seat is cheaper than any custom build. But the seat only buys the tool. Someone still has to design the data model, build the backend, wire payments, test on devices and submit to the stores. What the FlutterFlow plan does not include
- Backend and database. FlutterFlow lists Firebase and Supabase integrations, but those services bill you directly, and usage grows with your users.
- Store accounts. Apple and Google developer accounts are separate fees paid to Apple and Google.
- Developer time. A team of two on Growth is about AED 5,950 a year in seats alone. If those editors are freelancers or staff, their time is the larger cost.
- AI limits. AI requests are capped per plan: 50 a month on Basic, 200 on Growth and 500 on Business.
The point is not that FlutterFlow is expensive. It is that the plan price is the smallest line in the real budget of a production app.
Code ownership: FlutterFlow is not Bubble
FlutterFlow’s Basic plan lists “download project source code or APK.” That is a real advantage over builders such as Bubble, whose apps cannot be exported as code — see our Bubble vs custom app comparison.
The catch is what you do with downloaded code. It is Flutter, so once you edit it by hand you are maintaining a Flutter codebase, usually outside the visual editor. If you are still choosing a framework for that codebase, our Flutter vs React Native guide for Dubai compares the two. A custom build starts as a codebase engineers designed for maintenance, tests and code review from day one.
Where FlutterFlow needs engineering in the UAE
PDPL and data location
The UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) expects you to know where personal data is stored and how it is secured. With FlutterFlow, that answer depends on how your Firebase or Supabase project is configured, not on the builder. Our UAE PDPL compliance checklist for apps covers what to check.
Arabic and right-to-left
Growth adds one-click localization, which handles translated strings. A production bilingual app also needs mirrored layouts, Arabic typography and bidirectional text in forms, numbers and charts, tested on real devices.
UAE payments
Local gateways, 3-D Secure, VAT-correct invoices with your TRN and OTP flows need server-side code. That lives in your backend, which is outside FlutterFlow’s visual editor.
Store releases
One-click App Store deployment speeds up submission, but review rejections, privacy labels and release management still need someone who knows both stores. Our mobile app development cost guide for Dubai covers the full native budget.
When FlutterFlow wins, and when custom wins
| Situation | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Clickable prototype for investors | FlutterFlow | Free plan, visual editor, web publishing |
| In-house Flutter developer wants speed | FlutterFlow | Generated UI plus code download on Basic |
| Non-technical founder needs a launched app | Custom | Backend, payments and store release are delivered, not left to you |
| Enterprise or government clients | Custom | Documented architecture, data region and security review |
| Bilingual Arabic/English app with UAE payments | Custom | Production RTL and gateway code need engineering and device testing |
| Team of 3 to 5 editors | Compare both | Business seats run to about AED 21,590 a year before any build work |
Aquarius custom apps: fixed AED price, code you own
We use AI in delivery, which is why our prices sit below a traditional Dubai agency. Engineers own the architecture, review every line and sign off PDPL data handling, Arabic RTL and payments before launch. You get the repository. Prices exclude 5% VAT:
| Aquarius tier | Price | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Starter Site | From AED 500 | Simple website, live fast |
| Business Site | From AED 2,500 | Multi-page site with AI chat, EN/AR ready |
| Custom App | From AED 10,000 | AI web and mobile apps: auth, payments, dashboards, API integrations, 30-day launch support |
All tiers are on our transparent AED pricing page, and our web and app development services page lists everything we build.
FAQ
How much does FlutterFlow cost in the UAE in 2026?
FlutterFlow’s pricing page lists Basic at US$39 a month, Growth at US$80 for the first seat and US$55 for the second, and Business at US$150 for the first seat and US$85 for seats two to five. That is roughly AED 1,720 to 6,610 a year for one editor at the 3.6725 peg, before VAT, backend and store fees.
Can I export my FlutterFlow code?
Yes, on paid plans. FlutterFlow lists source code and APK download from the Basic plan. You then need a Flutter developer to maintain the exported code.
Does FlutterFlow include a backend?
No. FlutterFlow lists Firebase and Supabase integrations, and those services are billed separately by their providers.
Is FlutterFlow good for Arabic apps?
Growth adds one-click localization for translated text. Full right-to-left layouts, Arabic typography and bidirectional input still need design and device testing.
Is a custom app cheaper than FlutterFlow in Dubai?
Not on tool price: a FlutterFlow Basic seat is about AED 1,720 a year against a fixed AED 10,000 starting price for an Aquarius custom app. But the seat covers the builder only. A custom build includes the backend, payments, testing and store release.
